MONIKA MORGENSTERN

Born 1965, Germany, Monika immigrated to Australia in 1990 as a 25 year old. She received her Honours Degree in Visual Art from the Adelaide Central School of Art in 2014. Since 2003 Monika has resided in Strathalbyn on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia.

Monika Morgenstern researches mystical experiences and encounters with the numinous; she endeavours to bring to light something that does not exist in an accepted paradigm. The ambition for her work is to uncover and reveal how the mystical exists in contemporary society, and how she - as an artist - can approach these issues through art making.
