April 24th to May 20th, 2013
Open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
Presented by Worth Gallery and Fisher Jeffries. Launched by Senator The Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Finance and Deregulation.
Worth Gallery is proud to present 365Cups: a cup a day. A group exhibition including 73 artists working in ceramics, glass, metal, textiles, wood and found materials.
This exhibition is a celebration of the JamFactory’s 40th anniversary. Each artist has worked in or with the JamFactory over its 40 years. The reason for 73 artists is that 1973 is the birth year of the JamFactory and the number 365 represents a handmade cup for every day of the year.
The cup is a simple object we use daily, often referred to in the analogy for ones state of being "Is the cup half full or half empty."
The cups in this show are far from simple and the abundance of their numbers creates a powerful impact.
Whilst the major part of the exhibition will be held in the stunning foyer space of Fisher Jeffries, further displays of some 100 cups will be on show throughout the Adelaide Central Market precinct.
